Today Professionals Matt – Matt Cooper: I mean I have four

Matt Cooper: I mean, I have four daughters, and if I wanted to take the cheap basement route, I would ask them to take an online coding training camp, take some creative skills exchange courses, and here we go. Matt Cooper: If you want Skillshare to help you create a more creative culture and develop that mindset among your employees, yes, I think we’re halfway between a learning and development tool and an advantage. Matt Cooper: The beauty, again, the beauty of the open platform is that our teachers, our community, tend to report on what’s fashionable and what’s interesting, and then we know we’re going very far in that area. I think it’s something that I talk to users while I talk to them, I talk to at least two teachers and two students every week, and it’s a common theme, it’s that there’s only one community that can be reached through the exchange of skills that can’t be found anywhere else. Matt Cooper: I think at the end of the day, we want to be the global resource for creative learning on the Internet for ourselves. Whether you’ve been doing it for years, or some kind of rebirth of that creative spark, we want to offer you the place where you can learn the things that inspire you, learn the things that motivate you, open this creative journey for you. If you produce a Skillshare course and have a one to two hour course on this particular topic, and if you have thousands of students and comments and interactions, it’s very easy to send your customers offline to Skillshare to show their credibility. That’s, once again, the beauty of the open platform like Skillshare is that you can find a depth and breadth of content that you won’t find anywhere else. So I would say that the type of prototype user for Skillshare is a freelance designer who can work a little online, who also has local customers, but who comes to Skillshare to stay up to date and see what’s going on, what’s new, new software, learn new techniques, and so on. So if you look at Skillshare content because of its creative inclination, if you are looking for compatible content or how to write a professional email, we probably won’t help you. Matt Cooper: Especially in the last 12, 18 months, we have focused on creativity as a true vertical competition and a core competence. So we listen to students where they find a class, and actually skip the first three lessons and move on to the fourth because it’s about the technique, tool or formula they’re trying to learn. Matt Cooper: It’s been a constant question since the MOOC model became a reality. Skillshare is an online learning community that provides users with access to more than 30,000 courses in creative fields. Matt Cooper: Well, we can continue to provide the right content, but really think about this community.
