Until recently, Facebook dominated the U.S. youth social networks, but according to a new study by the Pew Research Center, it is no longer the most popular online platform for young people. This shift in youth use of social media is just one example of how the youth technology environment has changed since the Center’s last survey of youth use of technology and technology in 2014-2015. In the Center’s 2014-2015 survey on the use of social media by young people in 2014-2015, 71% of young people reported that they had used Facebook. The survey also shows that there is no clear consensus among young people about the impact of social media on the lives of today’s youth. Since young people who claim that social networks have had a positive impact in general, young people who have the opportunity to express their views in their own words tend to focus on issues related to communication and communication with others. Despite the almost universal presence of social media in their lives, there is no clear consensus among young people about the ultimate impact of these platforms on their peers. Another 12% accuse social media of influencing young people to accept peer pressure, while a smaller proportion fear that these sites may lead to psychological problems or tragedies. Other studies of young people’s use of social networking sites have shown that their use of digital platforms is developing in a similar way. Young people are less likely to agree that social media have a negative impact on their peers. Since a recent study by the Adolescent Technology Landscape Center in 2014-2015, there has been an increase in the ownership of game consoles by Spanish-speaking and low-income teenagers. The social networking landscape in which adolescents live is very different from that in which they lived three years ago.
