Providence Health Creates – To revitalize its managers

To revitalize its managers, Providence has developed two types of training materials: Vyond and Zappar: Scenarios and Tools Providence students knew that traditional classroom training would not be enough to train thousands of managers in just three years. That’s why Providence worked with Vyond and AR-App Zappar to develop a dynamic and innovative training program. Managers gave a positive assessment of the training: 80% agreed that PLAR scenarios increased their understanding of the training content and helped them to apply the lessons learned in their work, especially given that the video material can attract their attention. Providence training providers were satisfied with the good results of the PLAR training program. With this knowledge, Providence is ready to develop more PLAR training videos that will lead to a better understanding and preservation of the first program. For future training programs, Providence will continue to use Vyond as part of its PLAR program. Providers have used the development and delivery cycle to create such training material. During the design phase, the Providence Learning Group was particularly interested in using Vyond to create animated videos, as this tool proved to be of interest to students. This tool allowed us to quickly and cost effectively create training videos,” Hamilton says. “Animated videos support the development of story-based learning, which is a proven way to improve the understanding and preservation of learning materials,” says Hamilton. Managers find this new form of training very attractive and content oriented,” Hamilton said. The process begins with identifying business needs – training thousands of managers through the Health for a Better World program – and thinking about how to train employees to meet these needs. Here’s what happens when MicroLearning encounters an augmented reality: an improved white paper with an augmented reality. The methods we use are passive and are not strictly prescriptive,” says Johnny Hamilton, Senior Learning Providence Designer.
