The same has affected the world of billboards, although sport takes the form of individual and collective social activity, as Albe Steiner so clearly expressed in his graphic design for public service. We talked to Zaccariah about the exhibition, the changing nature of the sports industry, and the role of design in navigating a frightened world. These are just a few examples that show that sports is certainly an important social phenomenon, but that it also plays an important socio-economic and political role in our world history. And this fascination is expressed in the Art of Sport exhibition, which explores the connection between sport, design and creativity today through 150 works of art. In the years after World War II, this global approach was thwarted by a form of commercialization that focused exclusively on commerce and overshadowed corporate social responsibility. From this perspective, sports is a place of celebration for art and graphic design, and a place where the two are intertwined. “The Art of Sport” presents 150 works that highlight the superiority of visual communication in sport. The current situation that forces us to fight the crown virus emphasizes the need for social responsibility shared by all: the individual, society and private companies in all sectors. We show graphic designers with changing thematic exhibitions, highlighting major artistic and social movements such as pop music and sports. In other words, a discipline that takes into account all aspects of social life and its evolution: from industry to architecture, furniture, social behavior and, of course, technology. What do museums, sports and design have in common? They are all vectors of culture – and help us develop a sense of community. Design seems more important than ever to foster cohesion, authenticity and relevance in the sports industry. The mission of the Graphics Center is to explore the relationship between visual communication and community. As you go through the Art of Sport, you will be introduced to different styles of design, advertising, painting and photography.
