If Google decides to share a library or custom template gallery, its functionality is likely to be wider and wider than any other library or gallery that our community can create or manage as an entertainment project, so at this point we can only ensure that we include our current templates in the official library and allow the GTM site to survive as a web of curiosity. Although I’m pretty sure the latter will happen in the future, I thought it would be nice to create something like a library and then leave it to the community to help or download it locally for their own needs. If you click on the name of the template, you will get detailed information about it, and you can also download the TPL template file to import into Google Tag Manager. There are basic search, sorting and filtering options, but since we start with a relatively small set of templates, we still don’t know how to optimize these features. To do this, you need to create your own Google Cloud project and configure the Datastore cloud to work with local installation. I am working on improving the documentation in the service repository so that users can download the repository locally and run it successfully. So there are many drawbacks and opportunities for improvement, and that’s one of the reasons why I decided to do it with open source.
