CNN’s John Harwood does understand how Republicans in Congress have disagreed with Democrats and their extreme positions all these years and don’t support the party’s current plan to reform the country and send it over the fiscal cliff. “But because investing in infrastructure involves so much government spending, Republicans in Congress have been inactive even as Trump has paid lip service to the big program,” Harwood chirped. “President Joe Biden asked a handful of Republican senators to commit tohis’ plan to dramatically increase investment in U.S. infrastructure funded by taxes on corporations or wealthy individuals.” Harwood said “he was” surprised that Republicans would not vote for policies that went against his fundamental beliefs about government and its place in the lives of citizens. Harwood also complained that President Joe Biden’s so-called “infrastructure” plan has no bipartisan support. Harwood can’t understand why anyone would object to the federal government further intruding on people’s lives to fix transit facilities and build new asphalt. 6 Capitol Hill has staged a “riot,” complaining that Senate Republicans don’t want to spend the next few years pretending this is the worst event in history. Harwood, having been in the business for decades, doesn’t seem to understand that there are two major political parties with different agendas. The so-called journalist, who now works as a White House correspondent for a left-leaning cable channel, shared his thoughts on the GOP’s opposition to Democratic policies in an article published Sunday by CNN. Democrats claim to defend American elections, but in reality they are only attacking Republicans because they are trying to ensure the integrity of the vote. But it’s clear that their “infrastructure” plan is just a Trojan horse for radical policies, spending and tax increases. If Democrats were only interested in replacing roads and bridges, such a plan might get bipartisan support. Jonathan “Kipp” Jones has worked as a reporter, editor and producer for radio, television and digital media. We know, of course, that Democrats consider child care as much a part of the infrastructure as parental leave and other social programs. Truly conservative lawmakers must and always will oppose the Democrats’ overreach and power grab.
